About us

Who is behind pipeline.green?

We are a group of software engineers passionate about high performance teams and we believe that a key enabler for that is fast and reliable pipelines. We love and heavily use Github actions and workflow but it is sometimes hard to keep on top of those when complexity grows. As such we developed a platform to provide out-the-box observability for Github pipelines and we want to share this with other teams which may have be facing similar issues. Our platform is designed to provide easy integration with your Github repositories, allowing teams to easily monitor workflows. With features such as slow job detection, visual insights, date range summary, and job breakdown, you can streamline your workflows and improve performance.

FAQs

What do I need to join pipeline.green?

Just login using Github and follow the onboarding instructions, if you require further assistance or a custom plan don't hesitate to contact us.

What kind of permission does your GitHub login app require?

Our GitHub login app is only used to authenticate users and is configured not to grant any read or write permissions on your account, repositories or organisations. Find out more.

Why do I need to provide a Github token?

pipeline.green requires a read-only Github token to retrieve data using Github APIs. We recommend the principle to follow the principle of least privilege and configure the GitHub token with read-only permissions only for workflows and actions and only for the repositories you with to monitor.

What kind of data do you save?

We saved data required to build dashboards and provide out-of-the-box observability. Such information includes commit messages, workflow results, execution time, workflow actors (i.e. Github users' handles). Should you require us to remove such data, please contact us and we'll endeavour to do this as soon as possible.

We save this data securely and will never share any of this data with any third-party.

Is this project open source?

Not at the moment unfortunately, there's a fair bit of cleanup and housekeeping we need to do before making this project open source but this is on our radar. We love the transparency of open source, as well as collaboration with like-minded engineers.

We need your help

We believe in collaboration and welcome feedback to help shape the future of our platform. As our platform is in early beta, we are excited to work with the community to prioritize features and ensure that our solution meets the needs of Github users everywhere.
